Hey!. This is all about taste. I completely agree with you regarding \"ade Coffee Pros and Cons | The Best Cup Of Coffee - Coffee Information\", but I think you are in the thin line of thinling. Don\'t you? Maybe you can try which companies produce fair trade chocolate

Hello Everybody, I am a coffee roaster in Tempe,Arizona but I grew up picking coffee in Costa Rica and Panama. I lived different Fair Trade issues than most of you, on my own in the other side of the world. there are flaws in Fair trade certification in particular quality, credility and the cost associated with participating in the program. We tell customers to buy coffee from farmers that live far away and need our help but we should tell our customers to buy coffee from farmers because they grow better coffee. Most farmers now have to deliver there cherries to a coop in order to get the coffee processed for export. By mixing coffees from different parcels you are blending the guys with good farming practices and slow growing varietals with the ones that may not pay as mucha attention to quality. Most of the farmers cannot pay the fees and cannot produce what is required to ship directly to a big roaster. I see a mismatch between small quality oriented growers with small quality oriented roasters. We need to find alternatives to change that and one of them is www.morethanfair.org I buy now most of my coffee directly from growers in one bag increments from wharehouses in the US. Check them out.

Re: "Fair Trade came under fire recently"

Recently? Isn't that a bit of historical revisionism? Fair Trade has been under fire from half the coffee industry since its debate at the 1991 SCAA conference at the Claremont Hotel in Oakland. Who are you trying to kid here?
